Hey there,

My name is Erika Hurtado, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I am passionate about helping adults, teens and adolescents navigate the challenges of mental health, traumatic events, and life’s overall challenges.

My Approach to Healing
Understanding the root of your problems and emotional well-being can be complex and confusing, leaving you with questions such as:

  • Why did I react this way to this situation?

  • Why do I feel so immensely sad all the time?

  • Why do my emotions feel like they’re all over the place and I have no control of them?

  • This person just continues to upset me, why do I allow it?

  • I experienced a situation where I can’t remember what happened and felt disconnected from my body; how did that happen to me?

As life goes on and we unknowingly ignore these questions, we build on experiences from early childhood that add to the complexities of who we become in our adolescence and adulthood. Taking the time to understand yourself is a process, one that requires you to unravel depths of your personality, beliefs, and experiences. My approach is to create a space that is compassionate, curious, and creative allowing clients to dig deep into the root of who they are, and enable them to connect with their own resources. There isn’t one specific approach, I understand that healing can be complex and as such, my work is unscripted and tailored to the individual needs of my clients. I am also bilingual in Spanish and English.

My Experience
I provide trauma-informed care that is centered in an approach that acknowledges the importance of the integration of the body and mind. Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings, including community hospitals, non-profit organizations, and private practices. I have helped clients from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of mental health concerns, providing individual, couples and group therapy, crisis intervention, and support for issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and mood dysregulation.

How I Can Help You

During our work together you can expect to have a safe, non-judgemental space to explore all parts of you, even the ones that may be difficult to acknowledge. By exploring those parts, you begin to understand your deepest hurts, and will regain a sense of trust with yourself. In our sessions, you can expect to be empowered, believed in, understood and challenged towards growth.

If you or a loved one are seeking help in overcoming the challenges of life, I am here to guide you towards self-discovery and healing. Initiating therapy can be a daunting task, but with the right therapist it can be seamless.
